Stability of Na/Al2O3 DFM for ICCU-RWGS

Transition metal free dual functional materials (Na/Al2O3) were used for ICCU-RWGS (https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jcou.2022.102049). The authors investigated the stability of the DFMS at 450 °C for 50 cycles.

The capacity of CO2 capture was reduced after the 1st cycle, this was due to the sample was pretreated at 500 °C, while the 2nd cycle was carried out at 450 °C. The DFM showed a relatively stable performance over the 50 cycles of ICCU. However, it is noted that the 0.2 mmol/g CO2 capure capacity is quite low, compared to other reported DFMs.

The authors also analysed the textural properties and crystal phases of the DFM after 50 cycles of ICCU. The results (as indicated below) showed that the porosity and crystalline structure of the DFM were stable after 50 cycles of ICCU.
